French 4 & 5 students will study together for either one or two semesters this year; one semester is not a prerequisite for the other. Slang & Popular Expressions through Music, Literature & Film. Students will read a selection of stories and excerpts from longer pieces and also become familiar with popular French and / or Canadian musical groups, thereby learning more colloquial language. Regional Culture through Film & Food. In this section, students will practice the language by reading about and discussing selected regions of France. When time is available, we will prepare regional dishes together and/or separately. Students will also view several films in both French and English about and/or set in different regions, with a concentration of movies that depict southern France’s lifestyle. Within
the broad topics, you will learn new vocabulary and study (at least)
